In America The early performances of Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely place her into the child prodigy category. For a young Irish girl surrounded with gifted parents and extended family, these traits came as a normal. Maureen was welcomed into this caring haven on August 17 1920 located in Ranelagh (a suburb of Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons was her mom. She was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin firm, as well as had shares in the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons is the second child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons rounded out this amazing family. Maureen was a fan of rough and sporting games in her youth and excelled in sports. This passion was combined with an equally natural aptitude to perform. She took home almost every Feis Award for Theatre and Drama that her country had to give. At the age of 14, she was invited to the prestigious Abbey Theater and pursued her goal of performing in classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
